How long does a treatment last?
Appointments for body therapy vary in length, as each issue requires a different intensity and approach.
The first appointment lasts for 3 hours. This may sound very long to you, but you will quickly realize that your body needs time to release and change at the deepest level, and since we deal with your entire body as a complex unit, this takes time and 3 hours will pass by quickly. The subsequent follow-up appointments last between 60 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the symptoms and treatment plan, but longer appointments are also possible by arrangement, e.g. if you travel to Berlin especially for this.
What will happen during a body therapy treatment?
On this page, I explain my general approach in detail so that you get an idea of what to expect during your first treatment session with me. Feel free to read through this article and if you have any specific questions in advance regarding the type of treatment, the treatment process, or any fears or concerns, please feel free to write me an e-mail, including your telephone number if you wish. This way we can also clarify your questions over the phone.
Do you see yourself in this?
° Your cycle is irregular, often varies in length between 25-50 days, you have pain during your bleeding and the color and consistency of your menstrual bleeding is very dark and lumpy and different every time?
° You have pain during sex and you try to endure the penetration in the hopes that it will be over quickly?
° Your digestion alternates between constipation and diarrhea, and sometimes you tolerate food well and other times not at all?
° You've had abdominal surgery because of your appendix, a cyst, fibroids or an abdominal birth and the doctors decided to do the incisions quite deep on the belly for aesthetic reasons and now you feel like you have constant bladder infections and feel like an incontinence is on the horizon?
° You feel limp and tired, then you're angry again, your emotions go up and down and you call it PMS?
° Your vulva feels dry and the area around your anus burns when you have to go to the toilet. You think you have anal fissures or hemorrhoids, but the ointments from the doctor won't help?
° You have wanted to have children for quite some time, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out yet. You may have even been to a fertility clinic, but this has also been unsuccessful. Now you would like to physically check in what's going on?
° Your breasts hurt during your cycle and your breathing feels shallow? Maybe you also feel “lumps” in your breasts?
° Your body is changing during perimenopause and you have hot flushes and your vaginal mucus is much drier than before?
° During the vaginal birth of your child, tears or cuts occurred and now your sex life feels uncomfortable?
° You have the feeling or you know that your uterus is not in an optimal position and has perhaps kinked, shifted backwards or forwards?
Every person has a different reason, but they are all physical. Together, we will have a look at the causes of your discomfort. Pain doesn't have to be. You should feel comfortable and happy in your female body!
The topics of miscarriage, star children and the desire to get pregnant often overlap with emotion-focused bodywork. Generally speaking, there are emotional issues at the root of all complaints. However, some complaints can be dealt with primarily physically, while other issues require attention to feelings as well as physicality. We can discuss this together.
Special session:
◊ Fertility Bodywork sessions (if you are struggling to get pregnant)
◊ Breast Massage (emotional and/or structural)
◊ Deep-Belly Massage
